The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has that the issues causing internet disruption and slowdown will be addressed by the end of October.
Officials from the PTA stated that the implementation of the web management system (WMS) and its upgrade is set to be finished by October 20. They indicated that the WMS installation will help mitigate cyber-attacks.
The PTA also mentioned that this upgrade will increase capacity by 8 to 9 terabytes. According to PTA representatives, work on the management system began in 2019.
It is important to note that the ongoing internet disruptions have significantly impacted users, especially those working remotely.
These frequent internet outages have led to speculation that the slowdown might be a result of firewall installation, as the government seeks to regulate digital media.
